Scope and our privacy commitment

MK Tech uses this website to share information about its work and receive enquiries from founders, enterprises, partners, investors and other visitors. This policy applies to personal information collected through this website, including the Contact page, and to the related enquiry correspondence that follows.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as the standard for how we collect, use, disclose, hold, secure and dispose of personal information. You can read the Australian Privacy Principles on the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner website.

Separate collection notices, contracts or policies may apply to client projects, employment, suppliers or services outside this website.

02

Information we collect

When you contact MK Tech through this website, we may collect:

  • your first and last name;
  • your email address;
  • your company or organisation, when you choose to provide it;
  • the type of enquiry you select;
  • the information you include in your message;
  • the page from which you reached the Contact page; and
  • whether you choose to receive occasional MK Tech updates.

If you contact us by email or another channel, we may also collect the contact details and information included in that correspondence.

Our website and service providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site or operate the contact form. This may include an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referral information, timestamps and cookie identifiers where applicable.

The website does not ask you to provide sensitive information. Please do not include health information, government identifiers or other sensitive details in the free-text enquiry unless it is necessary for your request.

03

How we collect and use information

We usually collect information directly from you when you complete the Contact form, email us or continue an enquiry with our team. If another person provides information about you, we take reasonable steps to make sure the collection is appropriate and that you are made aware where required.

We use personal information to:

  • route, assess and respond to your enquiry;
  • understand the opportunity, decision or service you want to discuss;
  • arrange conversations and provide information you request;
  • maintain appropriate records of our communication and relationship;
  • operate, secure and improve the reliability of the website;
  • meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations; and
  • send occasional MK Tech updates when you have chosen to receive them or where otherwise permitted by law.

You can browse the public website without identifying yourself. If you do not provide the information needed for an enquiry, we may not be able to respond or take the requested next step.

04

Service providers and disclosure

The Contact form is provided by the MK Tech website. After the website validates your submission, it sends the approved fields to MK Tech's HubSpot customer relationship management account so the appropriate team can review and respond to the enquiry. The source page, enquiry type and recorded consent choices are also supplied to help route and manage the request.

A form labelled as unavailable in a website preview does not submit or record the details entered into its fields.

We may disclose personal information to:

  • MK Tech personnel who need it to handle the enquiry or relationship;
  • service providers that host, secure or support the website, communications and customer relationship systems;
  • professional advisers, insurers or auditors where reasonably required; and
  • government, regulatory or law-enforcement bodies where required by law.

We do not sell personal information. We ask service providers to handle personal information only for the services they provide to us and in accordance with their contractual and legal obligations.

05

Cookies and analytics

The website does not currently install standalone analytics or advertising trackers. The Contact form sends data through the website's first-party server endpoint.

HubSpot is not embedded in the Contact page and does not set cookies in your browser through this integration. HubSpot receives the submitted information from the MK Tech server after you choose to send the form.

You can read more in the HubSpot Privacy Policy.

06

Overseas processing

Some of the service providers used to operate the website and contact process are global organisations. HubSpot offers regional data hosting, including in Australia, but states that limited processing, usage data and sub-processors may operate outside the selected hosting region, including in the United States.

As a result, information submitted through the production Contact form and associated technical data may be processed outside Australia. Locations may change as provider infrastructure and sub-processors change. Where Australian privacy law requires it, we take reasonable steps to ensure an overseas recipient handles personal information consistently with the applicable requirements.

07

Security and retention

We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These measures include controlled access, secure hosting and transport protections appropriate to the information and service.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you believe information sent to MK Tech has been compromised, contact us promptly using the details below.

We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the enquiry or relationship, our legal and record-keeping obligations, or the resolution of a dispute or security matter. Retention periods vary according to the type of record and the reason it is held. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to legal obligations and normal backup cycles.

08

Your choices, access and correction

Marketing updates are optional. You can withdraw your choice at any time by using the unsubscribe option in a message or emailing us.

You can ask for access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact us in writing at info@mktech.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before providing access or making a correction. If we cannot meet a request, we will explain why where required by law.

09

Privacy enquiries and complaints

If you have a privacy question or believe MK Tech has mishandled your personal information, email info@mktech.com.au with the subject line Privacy. Please include enough detail for us to understand and investigate the matter.

We will acknowledge and assess the matter, involve the appropriate people and respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

10

Policy updates and contact

We may update this policy when our website, information-handling practices or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page. We will provide additional notice where a material change requires it.
